Southxperience
Valparaíso is one of the most fascinating cities in South America, and also one of the most enjoyable when you have good company. This full-day experience has it all: an expert guide who knows every hill, every alleyway, and every story of the port, and a local captain who safely navigates the bay with real knowledge of the sea.
In the morning, you explore the city by land: Cerro Alegre, Cerro Concepción, murals, staircases, viewpoints, and historical corners, along routes designed to enjoy the port without worries, at your own pace and with local context at every step. In the afternoon, you sail: you depart from Muelle Barón and see those same hills from the water, from a perspective that no photo from land can capture.
Two perspectives, one day. A private experience designed so you leave Valparaíso having seen what is truly worthwhile.
What makes this experience special
This is not a mass tour. It is a 100% private experience that combines land and sea in a single day, with two specialists at your service: an expert guide in the hills and a local captain in the bay.
You will see Valparaíso from both sides: walking its heritage hills in the morning and sailing its historic bay in the afternoon, with the 42 hills unfolding from the water, sea lions on the breakwaters, and Navy ships in the background. All with continuous accompaniment, local narration, and safety considerations from beginning to end.
Sample itinerary
1. Meeting and Departure
We coordinate the meeting point based on the group's availability and location, usually in Cerro Alegre or Muelle Barón. Before starting, we review the day's plan and the group's preferences.
2. Morning — Hills of Valparaíso (3 to 4 hours)
Guided tour through the heritage hills: iconic murals, historical staircases, viewpoints overlooking the bay, alleyways, and cafes recommended by the guide. Relaxed pace, selected route, and continuous accompaniment.
3. Midday break
Coffee or light lunch at a guide-recommended spot (not included, coordinated based on group preference).
4. Afternoon — Bay of Valparaíso (2 hours)
Transfer to Muelle Barón and departure on a private boat with a local captain. Navigation through the historic bay: sea lions, panoramic views of the 42 hills, maritime history of the port and the South Pacific. Snack and drink included on board.
5. Return
We conclude the day by returning to the agreed point. The schedule may vary depending on the group's pace and the day's conditions.
